WHAT TO EXPECT AT
YOUR APPOINTMENT

Before Your Appointment
Ear drops: Use softening drops only if you’ve been advised to or have a history of firm wax. Bring any prescription drops with you.
What to bring: Hearing aids, prescription drops, and any referrals.
Arrival: New patients—please arrive a few minutes early.

On Arrival
You’ll be greeted at reception, and new patients will complete a brief form.
Your nurse will take you through to the treatment room.

Assessment
We’ll ask about your current symptoms and ear history.
Each ear will be examined under the microscope to assess whether microsuction is appropriate.
If no wax is present, the $50 ear check fee applies.

Microsuction
Wax is removed using medical suction, with additional tools such as curettes, forceps, or fine picks when needed.
You may feel light tickling or pulling sensations and hear the sound of the vacuum.
You can watch the entire process live on the screen, and we’ll show you your eardrum at the end.
You’re welcome to ask for a short break at any time.

After Your Appointment
Your ears may feel different or more open once wax is removed.
We will explain what’s normal afterward and when to return for routine checks.
If further follow-up or referral is recommended, we’ll guide you through the next steps.
